TULSA, Okla. - Oral Roberts swept the two-game series with the Shockers by taking game two 8-1.
Erik Harbutz, Travis Bennett, Will Baez, Chris O'Brien and Kevin Hall each had a hit for Wichita State. Starter Josh Smith took the loss.
The Golden Eagles went up 1-0 with a run in the fourth. Chris Elder led off the inning with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. He advanced to third on a groundball and scored on a single up the middle by Colby Price.
ORU tacked on two more runs in the fifth with a two-run home run from Elder to increase the lead to 3-0.
The Shockers finally got on the board in the eighth inning. After back-to-back singles by Chris O'Brien and Kevin Hall, Tyler Grimes bunted them both over into scoring position. Erik Harbutz hit a ground ball off of the pitcher to drive in pinch runner Walker Davidson, but Hall was stranded at third.
ORU increased the lead to 8-1 with five more runs in the eighth.
The Shockers are next in action on Fri., March 26 when they host Bradley at Eck Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
