ST LOUIS -- Wichita State men's basketball has been picked for two Missouri Valley Conference television network games in 2012-13, the MVC Office announced today.
The Valley will have a 20-game regular-season men’s and women’s basketball package, which begins on Dec. 30 with Northern Iowa visiting 2012 MVC regular-season men’s basketball champion and NCAA Tournament participant Wichita State. WSU's second telecast originates from Wichita on Feb. 9 and is against Missouri State.
The Shocker women play a single TV date on the network Feb. 8 against UNI in Wichita.
Overall, the MVC, in its 106th year of athletic competition, will produce a 36-telecast, in-house television package on FOX Sports Midwest which includes championship telecasts of men's and women's soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball, softball and baseball. Two men's basketball Wildcard Weekend telecast dates are also held March 2nd and 3rd.
The Valley, with Niles Media Group of Kansas City serving as its production company, has worked in conjunction with FOX Sports Midwest -- along with its sister regional cable outlets FOX Sports Indiana and FOX Sports Kansas City -- and Comcast SportsNet Chicago to clear all basketball and Olympic sport telecasts.
FOX College Sports will also distribute all basketball and Olympic sport championship telecasts on a national basis.

"The MVC TV Network, thanks to partners like FOX Sports, FOX College Sports and ComcastSportsNet Chicago, remains our most visible marketing and promotional tool for our programs, coaches and student-athletes," Elgin added.

Watkins, MVC Associate Commissioner. "The trio of FOX, Comcast and FCS provides Valley brand recognition regionally as well as nationally."
