Shocker Fitness With Coach Bolt

“Shocker Fitness with coach bolt” is an effort by Wichita State University Track & Field Head Coach Steve Rainbolt (Coach Bolt) to provide a community exercise program for the Wichita area. His idea is patterned after a similar program in Lawrence, KS called Dog Days Fitness. Coach Bolt went and visited a Dog Days morning session and thought this would be a great way to bring together the community of Wichita and help raise money for Shocker Track & Field.

The Shocker Fitness program will be designed to provide excellent guidance for people of all backgrounds and capabilities. Participants will be men, women, and children of all ages. We will try to help everyone involved achieve their fitness goals and objectives. Workouts will be varied and give everyone a complete overall fitness session. Each session will include a warm-up, some type of a running or stadium stairs workout, and finish with a strength and conditioning circuit. Workouts will have energetic music, occasional guest speakers, and handouts regarding nutrition and off-day workout suggestions.

“Shocker Fitness with coach bolt” is offered in five seasons. Each season will be comprised of 3 sessions a week for 10 weeks. Sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5:45 a.m. at Cessna Stadium (Wichita State University). We will open the stadium at 5:30 each session so people can begin warming up and working out on their own before the workout begins. The summer session will also include a workout on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting at 5:45 PM. Each 10-week session costs $45 dollars and will include a T-shirt. In the case of inclement weather, workouts will be held under the west grand stands on the ramps.

A Registration form for the winter 2010 session, which runs from January 4 - March 12, can be found on our page www.goshockers.com –>Track & Field->Shocker Fitness Camp and printed off. Please bring the filled out registration form with you to your first session. Make your check out for $45 to Shocker Fitness.

Participants can join up any time throughout the 10-week session.
