ORLANDO, Fla. — An MRI for Wichita State men's basketball player
Anton Grady came back negative Friday night, and a neurosurgeon is scheduled to review the results and prepare a diagnosis Saturday. WSU will provide an update on his condition as soon as more information is available.
Grady was involved in a collision in the closing minutes of the Shockers' Friday afternoon game in the AdvoCare Invitational. As he turned to run up the court, his chin struck an opposing player, causing his head to rotate to one side.
Grady collapsed to the floor and lay facedown for several minutes while being attended to by medical personnel. Once stabilized, Grady was loaded onto a stretcher and taken via ambulance to a nearby trauma center for evaluation.
He was described as alert, responsive and in overall good spirits and had feeling in his extremities. A CT scan taken Friday afternoon also came back negative.
