WICHITA, Kan.  --
Sophomore Rebekah Topham added her name to the Shocker record book again with a 16:53.24 in the 5,000 meters as K.T. Woodman Track and Field action continued Friday night at the Distance Carnival and Javelin competition.

Topham' s time was good enough for 10th-best behind No. 9 and Kathryn Evans who ran a 16:50.87 during the 1988 season. Tonight, Topham finished 12-hundreths of a second in front of WSU All-American Tonya Nero (16:53.36), who holds the fourth-best time in Shocker history (16:19.17/2011).

In the women's javelin, Carlea Holt-Miles was second with a throw of 145-05/44.32m, while Kelsey Tenbrink was third at 142-04/43.38m.

In the men's javelin, John Hoplin was second with a throw of 195-07/59.62m to former Shocker Dylan Reimer's throw of 212-02/64.68m.

The K.T. Woodman continues 11 a.m., Saturday with the women's hammer throw to open more field event action.

Running events get started with the open Envision 100 meter dash for runners who are blind or visually impaired.

Collegiate running events follow at 12:30 p.m., with the 100 meter preliminaries for the women and men.
