Kent Hegenauer joined the staff at Wichita State as the Senior Associate AD for Business Operations in February 2023.
Hegenauer comes to Wichita State after spending the previous two years at Nevada as a Senior Associate AD. Prior to Nevada, he was at Southern Miss for 12 total years, eight as a Senior Associate AD and four as an associate director.
He got his start in collegiate athletics in ticketing at Tulane, where he began as an intern. He was promoted to assistant ticket manager and then ticket manager for a year. Hegenauer departed Tulane for Michigan State as an assistant ticket manager for four years. His next two ventures took him to TCU (2003-05) and South Carolina (2005-08), both as director of ticket operations.
Hegenauer graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in sport marketing and management in 1996. He then received his master's degree in economic development from Southern Miss in 2019.
A native of Saginaw, Mich., Hegenauer is engaged to Natalie Balderas.
